Fragments of a Scene

On April 16 Creamcake Projects in collaboration with HAU Hebbel am Ufer will present the first performance of a musical programme “Fragments of a Scene”, a musical analysis of our time and a glimpse into the future of an increasingly merging music and art scene.

The digital revolution is producing new hybrid projects that are breaking down closed spheres and facilitating open creative processes. Contemporary composers, for instance, have started turning more and more to the art and theatre scenes.

“Fragments of a Scene” presents six talents, who translate spherical, unadjusted and experimental sounds into their own artistic practice. The composers have yet to find a real home either in clubs or concert halls, nor in white cubes. Here a scene is stepping up into the foreground that unites perspectives from pop, sound art and media art, presenting new possibilities for experimental music production. While the composers take care of contemporary sounds and their implementation, the performances by Hanne Lippard and Britney Lopez treat further aspects of creative and critical output at the interface of music, art and digital culture.
